Biography

Alex Omwenga Nyachieo, well known as 'Omwenga' is a professional guitarist based in Nairobi, Kenya. The talented guitarist born in 2003 gained interest in guitar playing in his early years of life. The desire was fueled by the local church choir in which he became a member at a young age where guitars were used to accompany the singers. Omwenga learnt playing the instrument at first by merely observing and experimenting. With consistency he managed to play a number of songs and melodic lines on the acoustic guitar which saw him grow to even higher levels of skill.

While in highschool he took music as a subject and was introduced to classical guitar. The passion for music led him to join Kenyatta University where he studied Bachelor of Music, meeting many peers and classical music experts that propelled him to another level in his skill. He joined the university band as the lead guitarist where he passionately served for his entire campus life which led him to the music industry as a lead as well as classical guitarists.
